What pain can you compare labour to? appendix pain? a broken jaw?

Ok well think of the feeling you get when you pull your calf muscle and it cramps up, you feel it starting to stiffen up and then it gets really really tight and the pain is unbearable and all you can do is gasp and wish it would hurry up and relax. Imagine this exact pain but in your abdomen and coming every 2-3 minutes and lasting about a minute each - that is the best description of labor pain I can think of.
