Narnia PC game help???

i'm at the level called Beaver Dam. i've gotten past the first checkpoint, and i can't get any further. every time i try to switch to susan and shoot the dwarves, the ghouls attack. is there some way to get rid of the ghouls for good? the Ogre is no problem really, it's just the ghouls... please help??
